Welcome to Episode 12!
Knitting: First, we get learn that Miss K shouldn’t knit tipsy. Then, a review of Noro silk garden sock yarn. Miss K thinks it’s charming, but was unhappy to find a knot that ruined the color-progression of her project. Also, it’s a bit like novice-thick-and-thin handspun, so possibly not ideal for socks. Lastly, it’s hard to be project-monagomous when you want to spin.
Sci-Fi: Miss K is joined by Foo, X Men afficionado, and they wax poetic (and a little explicit) about X Men, the movies, the comics, and Patric Stewart….Foo helps Miss K earn the explicit tag.

In Episode 11, we learn that Miss K is a quitter!
Miss K officially quits the 52 pair plunge, speaks about knitting a shawl, and picks up the puff-sleeve feminine cardigan by Stephanie Japel, out of Fitted Knits. There is an update from both Miss K and ChristhefixedKitty on the Cabletini knitalong.
There is a report from Gail Carriger on Knitting Outside the Box.

Lastly, the science fiction moment – X Men 1, 2, & 3. Miss K talks about what she liked and what she didn’t. Then she goes off a bit about what it would be like to be Storm – and her wish that Emma Frost be used any new movie.

In Epidsode 10, Miss Kalendar speaks about Going Back in Time.
Knitting: We cover the 52 pair plunge, World Wide Knit in Public Day, and the Cabletini Knitalong – with a report from ChristhefixedKitty on her progress. There’s also a lot of blame on Jasmin from the Knitmore Girls podcast…..but it’s well deserved (trust me). Miss K also has a moment of snark about people wearing pajamas in public with platform flip flops.
Gail Carriger joins us once again for a fashion report.
Lastly, we brave the issues of time travel in science fiction (as opposed to time travel in reality tv?) and Miss K brings up some of her favorite time travel sci-fi moments – as well as gets off on quite a bizarre and somewhat pollyanna tangent about ethics and Dr. Seuss. At times like this, it’s best to just smile and nod.

In Episode 9, Miss K waxes poetic on some knitting – particularly her need to join in on strange knitting challenges that she has little hope of completing. There is discussion of the Aeolian Shawl from Knitty, the 52 Pair Plunge on Ravelry, and knitting in general.
Gail Carriger again joins us, fresh back from New York, with a report on knitting art, a subject dear to my own heart.
Lastly, we learn the term “Clark Kenting” and what it means in the context of SciFi. As always, you are encouraged to send in your own examples of this phenomena or any of the others previously talked about. And, although I couldn’t remember it at the time, the 80s tv show I was rambling about in the podcast is called “Out of This World.” And, damnit, she should have aged prematurely. Just sayin’

In Episode 8, Miss Kalendar is joined by Red Minx, a fellow knitter, cosplayer, and geek. Among other things, the pair discuss their Knitting Shame, their feelings about the new Trek movie, and views of cosplay.
There is also a brief update on the Cabletini knit along. Be sure to look at the brass needles board on Ravelry for more information, including the new toe that Jasmin of the Knitmore girls designed. It is NEVER TO LATE to start in on the knit along.
